Though never officially acknowledged as the source of inspiration, this sneaker’s graphics are strikingly similar to Eddie Van Halen’s iconic ‘Frankenstrat’ or ‘Frankenstein’ guitar. The design was similar enough that Van Halen famously filed a lawsuit against Nike for copyright infringement, which led to the coined ‘Van Halen’ name. Originally released in 1985, Dunks have become one of the most iconic sneaker styles of all time and a blank canvas for design inspiration.

  • Premium quality black canvas and suede uppers with red contrast stitching on Swoosh.
  • Midsoles and insoles feature designs similar to Eddie Van Halen’s guitar with black and white crossed lines on varsity red background.
