Wanderbursch (Wanderer)

stamped Grosz (lower right); stamped with the Nachlass mark on the verso

brush and ink on paper

50.1 by 39.2cm., 19¾ by 15⅜in.

Framed: 70 by 59cm., 27½ by 23¼in.

Executed in 1926.

The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by Ralph Jentsch.

Executed on cream wove paper, not laid down, taped to the overmount along the upper edge. There are a couple of artist's pinholes at each of the four corners. The sheet is slightly time-stained and there are a few extremely minor, small spots of foxing in places. There is a small crease to the centre of the extreme left edge. There are some tape remnants to the corners of the verso relating to previous mounting. This work is in overall very good condition.
