Trouville. Le port

signed E. Boudin, dated 91 (lower right) and inscribed Trouville (centre right)

oil on panel

34.2 by 46.6cm., 13½ by 18⅜in.

Framed: 52 by 64cm., 20½ by 25¼in.

Painted in 1891.

The panel is sound. UV examination reveals some areas of retouching to the left, upper, and right edges and some further small spots and flecks elsewhere in the composition, mainly to the sky. There is some minor frame abrasion to parts of the extreme edges, and a small nick to the upper part of the right edge. This work is in overall good condition.
