charcoal on paper - recto & verso

63.8 by 46.8cm., 25⅛by 18⅜in.

Framed: 92.5 by 75cm., 36½ by 29½in.

Executed in the winter of 1913 - recto & verso

Executed on cream laid paper, not laid down, attached to the mount with adhesive tabs on the verso. The sheet has been irregularly cut and the corner has been lined with thin paper. The sheet is slightly time-stained. There is a repaired tear (measuring approx. 5cm. in length) to the lower left corner, next to the lining paper. There are small nicks and scuffs to the extreme edges in places, the longest measuring approx. 0.2cm in length). There is a horizontal crease across the centre of the work and a few further light creases in places. There is foxing to the lower edge of the sheet, most noticeably on the verso. Recto: there are faint stains and accretions to the lower right corner of the sheet. Verso: there is some light paper skinning to the lower edge of the sheet. This work is in overall good condition.
