The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by Philippe Piguet.

The canvas is unlined. The pigments are bright and well preserved. Minor frame abrasion along the left edge and lower edge, one associated loss on the lower edge toward the left corner. Under UV light: two small instances of inpainting are visible in center of the composition, on the right-hand branch of the tree. This work is in overall very good condition.
