The first “modern” Submariner model was introduced to the market when Rolex released the reference 5512, as it was the defying moment for Rolex when they had decided to incorporate their watches with matte dials, crown guards and non-radioactive luminous plots. The reference 5512 today is categorized by collectors into four generations. The present watch presented with a Neat Font dial, normal crown guards and matte dial is the last representation of the 4 generations. Presented with a beautiful dial, proportionate case shape and a very attractive “Ghost Bezel” the present watch is a great example which signifies the important transition of Rolex’s history.
