The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Minute Repeater is a fascinating timepiece which demonstrates the technological advancement of contemporary watch making. Its most intriguing feature would be integrating a classical minute repeater with a water resistance case of up to 50 meters. The reason why these two elements have never come together in the history of watchmaking is because the standard of a minute repeater is justified by the sound, clarity and richness of each repeater’s tone, however when the casing of a watch is completely sealed off for water resistance purposes, it reduces the above qualities.

By employing a patented crystal gong, which has the heel of the gong soldered to the watch’s sapphire crystal, Jaeger-LeCoultre has broken the tradition by creating a water-resistant case which can also transmit an unimaginable sounding chime.
