The tourbillon complication was invented by Abraham-Louis Breguet and patented on June 26th, 1801. At that time the French Revolutionary calendar was implemented and expressed dates in a different fashion. To honor the original patent, the present watch carries the engraving 'Brevet du 7 Messidor an 9' on the movement and is a great example of a modern-day tourbillon by the renowned brand.

The beautiful hand-guilloché dial opens up at 6 o'clock to reveal the finely hand-engraved movement plate and fully skeletonized tourbillon carriage. Clean and sophisticated, the seconds are fixed to the tourbillon axis and displayed on a scale from 0 to 20. The coin-edged band nicely decorates this classic piece and the movement plate viewed from the back is simply astonishing.

The present lot is a rare pink gold version of this elegant reference and has been retained in attractive condition, offered with a Breguet Certificate of Authenticity.
