In 2006, Patek Philippe launched the reference 5711 to celebrate the anniversary of the Nautilus, a masterwork by the Swiss company originally designed by the world-renown Gérald Genta in 1976. Its design and magnetism never ceased to attract attention and the recent discontinuation of the reference has increased its allure even further.
The present lot not only offers a great opportunity to acquire the much sought-after reference, but also bears the Tiffany & Co. signature on its dial, the oldest American retailer of Patek Philippe and even falls into a sub-culture of collecting in its own right. Produced in 2011, it ranks among the first examples of 5711’s to have the Geneva Seal replaced with Patek Philippe’s own seal attesting to another level of excellence. Furthermore, the watch is in immaculate condition, having been serviced and is accompanied by its original wood presentation box alongside all its original booklets and paperwork. Almost as important it is also accompanied by the sales receipt of from Tiffany & Co New York dated June 2011.
