The Patek Philippe reference 3748 was launched in 1976 along with the ref. 3746. It was the replacement to the first Ellipse of which the production started in 1967. The Ellipse has quickly become an iconic model of the brand. With its timeless and iconic design, the watch's shape is based on the Golden Ration. This series of numbers was used by many artists to create a visually pleasing design.
This particular watch was retailed by Beyer in Zurich and it has the retailer's name stamped on the dial.
