Rolex introduced the original GMT-Master reference 6542 in 1954 to help pilots combat jetlag. Follow its success, the firm introduced reference 1675 in 1960, which remained in production through the 1980s before it was later replaced by reference 16750. Over its 30 year run the 1675 was available in gold, steel and a combination of the two. A particularity of this watch are the golden hour markers with luminous material in the middle, which have gained the nickname 'nipple' indexes.
The present watch is in good overall condition, had its movement completely serviced in February 2021 by Rolex and comes with a two-year warranty on the overhaul. It is further accompanied by a presentation case, instruction manual and calendar for 1981/1982.
