The Patek Philippe reference 1463 with its rather large case of 35mm, screw-down case back, oversized and bevelled winding crown, impresses mainly by its robust water-resistant case construction and the mythical round oversized pushers. Called “Tasti Tondi” in Italian, these massive pushers are characterised by copious stems with very particular domed caps adorned with a sunray engraving radiating outward from the centre.

Launched in 1940 as one the first water-resistant chronograph, approximately 800 examples were manufactured until approximately 1969, mainly in yellow gold, some few in stainless steel and even fewer in pink gold such as the present model.

From the family of the original owner this Patek Philippe reference 1463 'Tasti Tondi' is completed by its original case and certificate of origin stamped by the famed Patek Philippe retailer Astrua in Torino on October 10th, 1955.
