In 1904 Louis Cartier created the first watch specifically designed to be worn on the wrist for the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. “The Santos de Cartier” was born. A well-balanced blend of minimalistic taste, proportions and an eye for detail. The Santos proved to be so successful that it is still in production to this day and remains characteristic for its employment of small pins and screws to secure the bezel. The present example is in a highly attractive vintage condition.
