The reference 5513 was the longest production reference within the Submariner line, produced between 1962 and 1989. During this time a vast variety of dials were used, making the 5513 one of the most complex and history-rich of any Rolex reference. The present watch is fitted with the period correct matte dial, with the depth reading beginning with meters first indicating that it is one of the earliest 5513s to be fitted with the matte dial, with later models reading feet first. The 5513 along with its sister reference 5512 is where the no-date Submariner cemented itself into the icon we know and appreciate today, making it an attractive proposition for vintage tool watch lovers who wish to own something durable and important in the Submariner lineage.
