The movement is in working condition at the time of cataloguing. The date function is working properly. All diamonds are nice and intact. The dial has faded into a nice "tropical" color. The bezel with minor signs of wear to the edges and minor pinhead dings at places. The case with minor signs of wear. The case back with signs of wear and scuff marks at places, visible to the naked eye. The bracelet is in good overall condition and each links are still very tight together. The folding clasp with welding mark to the joint. Otherwise the watch is in very good overall condition with only very minor polishing.

Audemars Piguet launched the famous Royal Oak in the early 1970s, revolutionizing the luxury watch industry in the face of the quartz crisis. Gérald Genta designed this iconic shape, inspired by a diving-suit helmet, to feature a fully integrated bracelet - a first of its kind. Maintaining all the original lines of Genta's 1972 masterpiece, this 5402 in yellow gold has clearly been extremely well cared for over the years, with crisp edges and perfect graining. With diamonds numerals, the original black dial has now aging to a tropical warm brown.
