The perpetual calendar AP watches was developed back in 1981, starting to appear in the Royal Oak line in 1984 with the ref. 5554 known as the non leap year version.
The second generation has an intergraded leap year indication, the ref. 25820 started it production in 1998, was available with five dial variants in stainless steel (smooth silvered dial, white tapisserie and three different hues of blue with tapisserie as well), two dial variants in 18K yellow gold, two in platinum, three in stainless steel with platinum, and perhaps the most coveted of them all, a tantalum and rose-gold version, a tantalum and yellow gold version, and the king of all Royal Oak Perpetual Calendars, the tantalum and platinum version. One of the most sought after versions of this watch is the platinum salmon dial version.
According to our research, the present platinum with Tuscan dial configuration masterpiece said to be only 12 pieces were made, which make this piece one of the more rare and unusual Royal Oak perpetual calendars.
