Produced in a single series between 2004 and 2011, reference 5970 performed right out of the gates and today is widely heralded as a modern classic. Standard production took place across all four typical Patek Philippe case materials, but unlike most other models where platinum is the scarcest, with reference 5970 it is in fact the present yellow gold which were produced in the smallest quantity with an estimated 100-300 examples ever made out of the 1,250 piece model run. Reference 5970 is not a legendary reference, it also symbolizes the essence of the Patek Philippe brand and has the spirit of all preceding perpetual calendar chronographs inherent within. The present example is the rarest of this classic and has been retained in exceptional overall condition.
