The present Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date reference 15038 is an extremely rare piece. Upon first glance, avid Rolex enthusiasts would immediately recognize the UAE dial---a series of seven stars representative of the seven emirates, a majestic golden falcon, and the UAE flag. In Rolex’s history, there are prominently three Emirates Crests familiar to the eye: an emblem with silver stars and a silver eagle dedicated to the United Arab Emirates police, the first-version crest for the United Arab Emirates armed forces showing four smaller-sized stars and one larger one sitting at the center. This particular dial, an example of the third crest, is one that was previously supplied to the United Arab Emirates armed forces. This reference features an 18k yellow gold case, an original Rolex strap and buckle, a tritium sunburst silver UAE dial, as well as a fluted bezel.
