To commemorate French racing driver Jean Alesi’s participation in the Indianapolis 500, F.P. Journe released a highly special watch for a highly special event.
The Octa Sport Indy 500, launched as a limited series of 99 pieces numbered 501 to 599, was inspired by and branched off of F.P. Journe’s Octa Sport series. Of the 99 pieces produced, only 29 pieces of them are imprinted with the Indy 500 logo and the present watch is one of these examples. Produced with the most technical and durable of materials to withstand the rigor of racing, the watch is encased in blackened high-technology aluminum alloy, secured on a brand-signed rubber strap, and boasts a sleek black dial. Atop the dial is where the spirit of motorsport comes alive. Showing a Jean Alesi signature, the Indy 500 logo, the Lotus racing symbol, and the staple F.P. Journe Invenit et Fecit signature, the brand marries its historically established watchmaking vocation with its newfound involvement in the sporting world through its simple but effective dial design.
Consigned by an important private collector, the watch is in excellent overall condition and complete with the Authenticity Certificate.
