Produced from 1953 to 1960, the Calatrava reference 2526 is a very important milestone of Patek Philippe, being the first ever automatic wristwatch made by the company. During its long production run, a variety of dial differences and case materials could be found, with most examples fitted with an enamel dial. The present example is believed to be the first series of the Mark II 2526, being produced from 1955 to 1957, which has distinctive features such as the domed screw back, off-white enamel dial, and flaring around hand holes and indexes.
