The partnership between the traditional watchmaker Patek Phillippe and prestigious retailer Tiffany & Co. can be traced all the way back to 1851. Looking for the perfect retailer for his exquisite timepieces, Antoine Norbert de Patek, by fate or by chance, wandered into Charles Lewis Tiffany's boutique in New York. A firm handshake between the two parties started a legendary partnership which lasted for more than one and a half centuries and is still ongoing today. The present pocket watch is a great illustration of the partnership between the two iconic luxury names. Furthermore it is presented with an uncommon and fascinating “Swiss Made” case especially when it was sold by Tiffany & Co. at the time, as the case is stamped by the Patek Philippe hallmarks instead of the retailer’s name. Presented with many features demonstrating the great qualities of this watch, from the “Swiss Made” hinged housing to its 17-Lignes hunting style movement this is a fascinating timepiece of the early 1900s.
