The Master Minute Repeater Antoine LeCoultre was launched to celebrate the firm's 175th anniversary in 2005.
Jaeger-LeCoultre took on the challenge of producing a timepiece that is both waterproof and exceptional in sound quality. This magnificent chime was achieved with the caliber 947, which has a patented crystal gong, an ingenious new design in the world of repeating watches.
The patented mechanism works by adhering the gong heel directly to a sapphire crystal within the movement. The crystal resonates with the gongs, amplifying the sound. The gongs themselves are made of an exclusive secret formula not disclosed by the firm.
To complete this already impressive timepiece, the caliber 947 is the only manual winding movement with a 15 day power reserve. The spring torque is displayed on a special indicator, guaranteeing optimal accuracy as long as the hand remains in the indicator’s safety zone.
