The reference 6263 began production in the early 1970s alongside its sister reference, the 6265. The former was fitted with a black acrylic bezel, as in this instance, and the latter with a stainless steel bezel.
The timeless aesthetic of these early models, distinguished by their larger, screw-down chronograph pushers and crown, and their additional Oyster signed dials, has marked the standard for all future Daytona references up to the present day.
