With a production run of less than 3 years, the reference 3454 is rare, even by vintage Patek Philippe standards. The reference was never published in any Patek Philippe official publications and was not in any of the catalogs at the time. Over the succeeding years, we have only seen 5 examples come to market, and whilst we cannot be sure how many we actually made, research demonstrates that it is less than 200 and more likely closer to 100. The 3454 is undoubtedly a rare and highly desirable model featuring some of the era’s greatest hits. The case, made by Gerlach, is 35mm with engraved bezel, smoothed down lugs, and boasts a screw-down case back, PP crown (meaning it is waterproof). The movement is caliber 27-460, the successors to the legendary 12 460. To date, only 5 examples of the reference 3454 have come to market in the last 58 years, all cased in yellow gold.
