Case: The case is in overall good condition with surface wear commensurate with age. Patina throughout the outer case. The case back is personally inscribed 'Dr. John H. Finley From Lincoln Ellsworth Navigator's Watch used on the Airship Norge in the First Crossing of the Polar Sea May 11-13, 1926'. The cuvette is inscribed 'Award Third Prize Geneve Astronomical Observatory Timing Contest 1922-1925'.


Dial: The dial is in overall good condition with some light discoloration and dark spots throughout. A drawing of the Norge airship is covering the Patek Philippe signature.


Movement: The movement is running at time of cataloging, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
