Rolex launched the Explorer II in 1971 and its distinguishing feature is the bright orange luminous 24 hour triangular tipped hand. It is also interesting to note that this reference has also been given the nickname “Steve Mcqueen”. The present watch is a lovely example where the lumes have turned a vibrant yellow that match consistently with each other. In addition, the watch is preserved in very appealing condition. Furthermore the watch is still retaining its original accessories, including the original invoice from Tyme Limited of Old Bond Street, London with an original purchase price of 462 pounds, which also matches the Garantie.
