In 1993 Audemars Piguet introduced the Royal Oak Offshore, a new, bulkier version of the classic Royal Oak model. It has held a special place in the enthusiast's collections since then.

This Reference 25894BA is a very important example. It was produced upon a special or personalized order by Audemars Piguet. The heavy gold case and bracelet as well as the dial are decorated with pavé-set diamonds. While most of the watch has brilliant-cut diamonds, the links of the bracelet are adorned by baguette diamonds. In total, there are no less than 682 diamonds weighing approximately 18.5 carats.

This impressive and early E series piece is numbered "1" on the case back. It was made in 1997, just 4 years after the original launch of the Offshore.

The year before, Audemars Piguet released the Reference 25721BA "The Beauty" (as opposed to the stainless steel Beast). Apart from the magnificent diamond decoration, the 25894BA sets itself apart by its use of a gold crown and chronograph pushers, as opposed to the standard rubber ones, demonstrating the determination of the brand to produce a piece that would only be made of precious metals.

Carefully stored for many years, the gold has developed an attractive patina and some oxidation for the delight of the enthusiast's eyes.

Finding an original factory fully decorated Royal Oak Offshore bracelet watch is an important discovery and an exceedingly rare opportunity for a serious collector.
