In the early 1930s, the American aviator, Charles Lindbergh, designed the Longines Hour Angle using the Weems system. The Weems Second Setting Watch, with a rotating center dial allowing the seconds hand to be synchronized with a reference clock, improved upon the previous Hour Angle. The present Weems Second Setting watch is made for the Japanese Airforce with Japanese Military inscription on the case back. The case is made from sterling silver, the dial has an hour chapter ring made from enamel and the watch still retains its original strap. The 47 mm case is in very crisp and original condition and the enamel dial is free of any imperfections.
