Envisioned by creative genius Gérald Genta and subsequently released in 1976, the Nautilus stood the test of time to become one of the most sought after timepieces in the world. The original reference 3700 was indeed a thought-provoking design, with large and slim proportions not previously seen before. While the model has been thoroughly associated with the ruggedness of stainless steel, Patek Philippe launched precious metal and two-tone versions of the Nautilus over the course of its existence.

In 2018, Patek Philippe took the collecting world by storm with the launch of the instantly legendary reference 5740. The very first perpetual calendar Nautilus ever released is crafted from solid 18k white gold and boasts an absolutely magnificent dial, showing a new shade of blue and white printing. Arguably one of Patek Philippe's signature grand complications, the perpetual calendar is by itself a highly-praised feature.

Sold to Patek Philippe's most loyal clients, the reference 5740 is extremely difficult to acquire. The present practically unworn example with its full suite of accessories and documentation stands as a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most heavily waitlisted watches in today's market.
