Its creator Gerald Genta purportedly designed the Nautilus in 5 minutes sat in a restaurant watching the Patek Philippe executives dining. It was a watch that was born during the 70s quartz watch crisis and a design, though only drawn in an instant, that has endured more than 40 years success. Any such watch is rightly deserving icon status.

The present Nautilus reference 3800 features an exciting and rare black dial with Roman numerals, which is arguably among the classiest variations found on this reference, and confirmed by the Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives.
