Blancpain

Erotic automatons have fascinated watchmakers and customers alike over centuries. During some periods in time, these motifs were prohibited and in modern day watchmaking, only a few manufacturers such as Blancpain, Ulysse Nardin and Svend Andersen still produce them with some regularity, usually as unique pieces such as the present example. Throughout time erotic scenes were either found in plain sight on the dial or in more discreet places such as the back or interior of the watches, which made it possible to hide the controversial motifs and wear the watch for everyday life. Even nowadays both versions exist, with the present Blancpain being a very elegant timepiece that may be worn everyday, only revealing the intriguing erotic scene when the watch is taken off the wrist and turned around.
