The complete book, comprising ten woodcuts, 2000, signed in pencil on the colophon and numbered 38, from the deluxe edition of 50, with the separate suite of seven woodcuts, each signed in pencil, individually titled and numbered 38/50 (total edition includes five artist's proofs), the prints on Kitakata handmade paper, published by The Arion Press, San Francisco, the book bound (as issued), with text by Jean Toomer, contained in the original leather binding with wooden slipcase, the suite contained in the original cloth-covered boards (17 prints)

With full margins, the prints are in good condition. (A few sheets with an occasional tiny rust fleck or fox mark in the margins.) The boards with some small spots of surface soiling and an indentation at right. The leather cover with a few minor spots of wear and the wooden slipcase with a small spot of adhesive on the side.
