Overall in excellent condition. The present dining table presents with great sculptural scale when viewed in person as well as a highly dynamic aluminum surface that enhances its naturalistic motif. The surfaces have recently been sensitively cleaned by a professional restorer with strong expertise in works by Les Lalanne. When viewed in person, the aluminum surfaces present with a bright silver color with dynamic variegated presence. The patina in the recessed contours appears slightly darker, which is part of the artist’s original intent, and adds visual nuance and depth to the design. The aluminum presents with minor surface and casting irregularities, particulate inclusions and minute pinholes which are inherent to the making and typical for works by Claude Lalanne. The underside of the feet with protective rubber pads. This dining table is highly compatible with the following lots and provides an opportunity for Lalanne collectors to acquire a beautiful and complete “Ginkgo” dining set, which is in remarkable condition and suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
