Joaquim Tenreiro

A Rare "Mesa Triangular" Table

circa 1960

jacaranda, reverse-painted glass

29 1/2 x 72 x 70 3/4 in. (74.9 x 182.9 x 179.7 cm)

Overall in very good condition. The jacaranda wood base presents with very minor surface scratches, minute abrasions and edge wear, particularly concentrated to the legs as consistent with age and gentle use. The glass tabletop presents with scattered very faint surface scratches consistent with gentle use, as well as a few minute chips and indentations to the edge where the glass meets the wood frame, only visible upon close inspection. The reverse painted glass presents with a few irregularities in application and very small losses to the paint near the edge of the central clear triangle, possibly inherent to production and not visually distracting. With Lot 111, this table provides a rare opportunity to acquire a complete dining set by Joaquim Tenreiro.
