Overall in very good condition. This rare piece recorded in the photographic archives of the artist presents with great scale and a stunning composition. The wooden surfaces are in age-appropriate condition and present with light surface scratches as well as very minor indentations and abrasions concentrated to the edges, corners and raised elements of the piece consistent with gentle use. The rosewood with evidence of prior and sensitive repairs and inpainting to select, isolated areas of the cabinet concentrated to the edges of the piece and not visually distracting. The brass presents with light oxidation throughout consistent with age, as well as light surface scratches and minute indentations consistent with gentle use. The cabinet is offered together with two drawers and twelve adjustable wooden shelves in very good condition. This lot also includes two period keys in functional condition, one of which has been recently restored to ensure functionality. A highly elegant work by Jean Royère in functional and well-preserved condition.
