清十八 / 十九世紀 紅地纏枝蓮紋漳絨炕毯

A large red-ground cut velvet and metallic thread 'lotus' kang cover

Qing dynasty, 18th / 19th century


consisting of three joined panels of cut and uncut silk velvet, the center decorated with a lotus blossom surrounded by three smaller blossoms on each side, all against a velvet red background with meandering foliate scrolls in metal-wrapped thread, bordered by three consecutive bands of geometric kuilong scroll, lotus scrolls, and wan-fret 


Length 143 in., 363.2 cm; Width 38 in., 96.5 cm
