each worked on one side with a wondrous scene portraying celestial beings in an ethereal landscape depicted with tall pine trees and jagged rockwork, one screen with two immortals soaring through the sky on a phoenix and crane respectively, the other with a female immortal standing on cloud scrolls and scattering floral petals, the reverse of each screen decorated in low relief with a cat emerging from behind floral sprigs, wood stands
