the deity in ardhaparyankasana holding a kartrika in the raised right hand and a kapala in the left hand, wearing a tiger skin dhoti and a flayed human skin across the back, a scarf billowing around the shoulders, with bared fangs and flaming hair, standing on a mountain shaped separately cast base


Height 5 ⅜ in., 13.6 cm

In good overall condition for an object of this type and age. With cold gold visible along the face, neck, hands and feet. Some general accretion visible above the right eyebrow, along the arms and hands. Orange polychromy visible in the hair. Red polychromy visible in the eyes of the crowning skull, the eyes of the dakini, the forehead, the finger nails and toes, in the liquid of the skullcup, and along the eyes and mouth of the tiger skin at back. Semi precious stones now missing. Glued to the base which is cast separately and likely not original to the sculpture.
