A famille-rose 'bats and emblems' bowl and cover
Qing dynasty, Daoguang period
finely enameled to the exterior with a shaped diaper border around the rim suspending pendants in the form of bats and jewels, alternating with suspended parasols dangling lotus-form emblems, chimes, and tassels, all above upright ruyi-form lappets encircling the foot, the cover similarly decorated, both the bowl and cover inscribed with a four-character Shendetang zhi mark in iron red (2)
Diameter 4 ¼ in., 10.9 cm
The bowl with a minute ding to the rim. The cover with a hairline crack, measuring 1.8cm. Very light wear to the surface with a few minor firing imperfections.
