This wonderful proportion high chest has an unusual attribute of a single flower rondel in the center of the skirt.  A related mitching high chest and dressing table is in the Yale University Art Collection (see Gerald W.R. Ward, American Case Furniture in the Mabel Brady Garvan and Other Collections at Yale University, (New Haven, CT: Yale University Art Gallery, 1988), p.260-1, no. 136.  The currently offered lot’s delicate raised pad feet differ with those of the Yale high chest.
