A spinach-green jade censer and cover
Qing dynasty, 18th / 19th century
清十八 / 十九世紀 碧玉雕壽字紋龍耳蓋爐
the bowl-shaped sides supported on a splayed pedestal foot and rising to a short constricted neck and galleried rim, the shoulder set with a pair of archaistic kuilong scroll handles, the body carved in low relief with stylized shou characters divided by ruyi-shaped panels, the domed cover similarly decorated and surmounted by a compressed globular openwork finial in the form of a fierce coiled dragon, the translucent deep green stone variegated with paler and black streaks (2)
