4¾-inch gilt dial with cartouche numberals and cast with scrolls, signed Silvani, B A Paris, the bell striking movement with outside count wheel and Brocot suspension, signed on the backplate as the dial, the drum with foliate surround and surmounting the rectangular case inset with a large porcelain plaque depicting the Holy Family (the Virgin of Seville) after Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, the boldly cast base on gryphon feet
