A pair of George III boxwood strung and crossbanded mahogany demi-lune card tables by Gillows, 1788
the folding tops with later baize inset and gateleg action above a tablet frieze on fluted square tapering legs

The present card tables, together with four others en suite, were supplied to Workington Hall in 1788 and are recorded in Gillows' Waste Book on 12 October, described as '6 handsome Mahogany Circular card Tables lined with fine green cloth. 6 tops x band & strung frame banded in panels... legs fluted...Tablets in the Centres' at a cost of £19. 16s. 0d.
