Leslie Model 122RV Rotating Speaker Cabinet, used in the Grateful Dead

Ventilated wooden cabinet (21.5 x 48 x 28”), with tube reverb unit and rotating speaker. Steal Your Face sticker and Grateful Dead bumper sticker on front, back with Steal Your Face sticker, American flag sticker, spray painted number 8, and masking tape reading “keeps spinning fast, no sound.” Serial number: 47S64.

The 122 line of Leslie cabinets define the signature rotating speaker sound for most users. The “RV” denotes that the cabinet came with a reverb unit installed. Brent Mydland used this cab with a Hammond B3, supplying one of the most soulful and best-loved keyboard sounds for the Dead.
