Though it has not been possible, thus far, to connect this drawing to a surviving painting by Ubaldo, it nonetheless epitomizes the artist's graphic style, with his sinuous penwork coupled with the elegant application of brown wash and the skillful use of the white reserves of the sheet to create luminosity, all clearly evident.
