Château Cheval Blanc 1993 (3 DM)
Château Cheval Blanc 1993
St. Emilion, 1er Grand Cru Classé (A)
Previously purchased from Sotheby's Hong Kong on 21 May 2010, "Cheval Blanc, Yquem and Dom Perignon: Treasures Direct from the Cellars", excellent appearance
When I had this in Paris it was astonishingly good - one would never have guessed it was from this rainy year. The deep colour led to a lovely, strong, aromatic nose and a rich, velvety taste, leaving one to wonder how Pierre Lurton did this. Ours is not to reason why - just to enjoy it! In 2011, scented and perfumed on the nose. This slips down very easily, with tastes of liquorice and raisins. Drinking well now. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
