Movement: nickel decoratively engraved 3/4 plate, lever escapement, bi-metallic compensation balance, blued steel overcoil hairspring, steel satin finished repeating work and rack partially visible to the backplate, two polished steel hammers repeating on coiled gongs

Dial: silver, Roman numerals interspersed by chased and engraved flowers, the dial centre and rim with raised gilded flowers and foliage, subsidiary seconds, signed to a banner Girard-Perregaux, Chaux-de-Fonds

Case: 18ct pink gold, engine-turned covers, the front with large asymmetrical blank cartouche, repeating slide to the band, hand-setting lever beneath bezel, gold cuvette decoratively engraved and with movement details and 'Medaille d'Or Paris 1889', covers decoratively engine-turned to the interiors, covers and cuvette with Swiss hallmarks and signed and numbered 119403, back cover also stamped JN within rectangular cartouche
