• Movement: gilded, 3/4 plate, lever escapement, bi-metallic compensation balance, ruby endstone, some jewels carried in screwed settings, two polished steel hammers repeating on coiled gongs, signed Hunt & Roskell, 156 New Bond Street, London, No. 12440
• Dial: white enamel, Roman numerals, outer minute ring, blued steel hands, the hour hand with double taper, signed Hunt and Roskell, London
• Case: 18ct gold, the front with glazed aperture surrounded by black enamel Roman numerals and inner minute ring, plain polished back, sunken repeating slide to band, olivette for hand-set beside crown, polished gold cuvette, hallmarked London 1867 and with case maker's mark AS in rectangular cameo (probably Alfred Stram), long gold oval link chain with T-bar and swivel-for compass
