A gold quarter repeating watch with concealed erotic automata
Circa 1825, no. 5472
• Movement: gilded full plate, verge escapement, plain flat balance, decoratively pierced and engraved balance bridge, silver regulation plate, fusee and chain, cylindrical pillars, repeating on coiled gongs
• Dial: gold engine-turned dial, Roman numerals, outer minute ring, aperture bearing the signature Breguet and opening to reveal vari-coloured amorous couple via a slide in the case side
• Case: pink gold, engine turned back, cartouche to the base with monogram RB, later applied yellow gold motif to the top, milled band, gold plunge pendant, gilt-metal cuvette with winding aperture, case back with Neuchâtel control mark
