Sculptor, writer and jewellery designer, Consagra focuses on the research of jewels from 1947 and collaborates with Masenza and his artist circle. His works are abstract elements fit together, in platinum, gold, enamel and sometimes in diamonds.


The present brooch was part of the exhibition dedicated to Italian artistic expression of 1994, 'The Italian Metamorphosis, 1943-1968 by Germano Celant, presented at Solomon R Guggenheim Museum, Triennale di Milano and Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg in 1995. The brooch is published as n° 282 in 'The Italian Metamorphosis volume and also presented in Gioielli d'Artista, 1995, page 119. Consagra, among many other artists such as Capogrossi and Afro gravitated around Mario Masenza's work shop and later created other jewels with Fumanti and Giancarlo Montebello.

Scultore, scrittore e creatore di gioielli, Consagra si dedica alla sperimentazione nel gioiello dal 1947 e collabora con Masenza ed il suo gruppo di artisti. I suoi lavori sono forme astratte incastrate le une nelle altre, usando platino, oro, smalto e a volte diamanti.


La spilla qui ritratta è stata pubblicata nel volume The Italian Metamorphosis 1943-1968 di Germano Celant, del 1994, dedicato all'espressione artistica italiana, come opera 282 ed esposta al Solomon R Guggenheim Museum, Triennale di Milano e Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg nel 1995. La spilla è presente anche nel volume Gioielli d'Artista del 1995 a pagina 119. Consagra insieme a tanti altri artisti come Capogrossi e Afro gravitò attorno alla cerchia di Mario Masenza e in seguito creò gioielli anche con Fumanti e Giancarlo Montebello.
